Grandpa's Garden

To most people his picture isn't very impressive - it's just a picture of a garden. But to me, this picture is priceless. Is is a picture of my grandpa's garden. He takes great pride in his garden and his yard. If you look closely you can see that he has a separate garden just for corn in the back. He is getting older and his health isn't great. He crawls around in the dirt picking weeds and gathering vegetables because the ground is uneven and is hard for him to walk on. He is hardworking and doesn't let anything get him down. So, which this is just a simple picture of a garden, to me it is so much more!!

Hanging Lanterns

Today I spent most of the day on a ladder hanging tons of these lanterns in trees for a class reunion that we decorated for. I LOVE them. I am posting from a computer that doesn't have Photoshop so I just bumped up the color a bit!

Bringing Home a Baby Bumble Bee

Ok - I can't even tell you how nervous I was taking these pictures!  My hands were sweating, I was shaking.  I was so freaked out that they were all going to turn on me and attack. Or that I'd bump into one while I was focused on another.  Whew.  I'm really glad I got a good picture to post and that it's over!

But I had to document these bees! There are TONS of the fattest, fuzziest, hugest bees just outside our front door totally coating themselves in pollen. This picture doesn't even show how covered they get before they head off, back to the hive I suppose. They seriously look like little puffs of light yellow pollen by the time they leave. It's pretty funny looking.

Little D is 1 Year Old

A friend of my brother's little boy turned 1 and they asked me to take some 1 year old pictures of him. So this evening I met them downtown Provo and we wandered around and took pictures. Little D was a little too busy, and taking pictures was a little too boring for him, but overall he did great and we got some really fun shots. Here are just a few from this evening.

f/4.0, 1/125, ISO 200

f/4.5, 1/60, ISO 400

f/4.5, 1/100, ISO 400

f/4.0, 1/320, ISO 400

There are a lot more cute ones too! It was hard to pick just a few. Anyway - it was good practice. I need to learn to juggle paying attention to my focus, my camera settings AND being ready to snap the shots. Little ones distract me too much. I feel frazzled trying to handle the kiddo and do all the other stuff too. But I'll learn!

Fishin' Reel

My bro & J were fishing at Fish Lake and I snapped this picture of my bro's fishing reel. I like the way it turned out!! I like the silvery look of the reel with the light green line. Wow - who knew I would love the colors of a reel so much!! I don't know why my pictures always post so tall!! I save them as 1000 wide. HELP!!

Little Brother

A little explanation for our readers: My sweet friend Les just didn't have the time to do our photo-a-day blog! I don't blame her! She's got her hands full with three little ones! So - I invited my other sweet friend Angie to do it and she agreed! HOORAY! Even though we live just 20 miles away from each other, we still do need a blog to keep in touch!

So - welcome Ang! So excited you want to do this with me.

These are my little cousins at Bear Lake. Getting them to pose and smile was nearly impossible. They are way too goofy to just stand there and be cute. This shot seriously cracked me up!!

What a couple of goof-balls!

Capital Reef

Capital Reef

Here is my first photo post! I took this picture in Capital Reef National Park. This is the straight out of the camera shot - no Photoshop enhancements added! I will eventually learn how to include the details/info. that my camera shows before I shoot, but for now this is all I have. I can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve!
